How to batch create Pinterest content
If you don’t approach it strategically Pinterest can feel like a bit of a beast. So many pins. So many boards. So much… effort? But what if you could get weeks’ worth of content sorted in an hour? No more faffing, no more wondering what to post, just a steady stream of Pins working behind the scenes while you crack on with running your business. Well you can. That’s the magic of batch creating.
Why batch your Pinterest content?
Pinterest favours consistent posting. Regular, fresh content helps you show up more often in search results and smart feeds. But unlike Instagram, you’re not expected to reinvent the wheel every time. Batching gives you:
Less daily decision making
More visibility from consistent pinning
A bank of reusable content
Freedom from the daily “what do I post?” panic
First thing’s first…
Before you get Canva happy or write a single line of copy, YOU MUST DO KEYWORD RESEARCH. Your Pinterest strategy lives or dies on how searchable your content is and no amount of beautiful photography or intricate graphics are going to help.If you’re not sure what keywords to use, check Pinterest’s search bar suggestions and check out my blog on how to get your keyword research bang on.
Get your keywords right from the start and everything else gets easier.
How to batch create pins in Canva for service based businesses
Batching means one piece of content can give you several Pins with minimal extra effort. Start with your content, let’s say you want to promote your latest blog:
Create 5 different titles for the blog post - use ChatGPT to help generate strong, keyword rich titles.
Pick 3-5 Canva templates - keep them simple, scroll stopping and easy to update and add the titles.
Add your branding - pop in your colours, fonts and logo.
Switch up the imagery on each design - different visuals = fresh Pins, even if the link is the same. Try different stock photos or brand photos.
This gives you 5 pins from one piece of blog content - see magic.
Here’s an example of how I’ve done this for a blog of mine:
How to batch create pins for product based businesses
If you’re selling physical products, here’s how batching works for you:
Pin from your website directly when possible (add the Pinterest extension to your browser and it’s literally a couple of taps to pin your content).
Use different images of the same product - think different angles, colours, sizes or product styling
Here you’re not just pinning a product, you’re creating entry points for different types of shoppers.
Write keyword rich descriptions
This is the part most people skip or don’t put thought into but it really matters.
Each pin needs a description that helps Pinterest understand what it’s about. Think clear, descriptive and full of keywords your audience is actually typing into the search bar.
Use ChatGPT to:
Generate 5 keyword rich pin descriptions for your blog
Naturally include the keywords you’ve researched. No stuffing and for the love of god no hashtags!
Highlight the benefits of reading your blog
Schedule it and step away
Once your pins are designed and written use a scheduler like Pinterest’s native scheduler or Tailwind to load everything in. Then you can step away and let the algorithm do its thing while you get on with your week.
Batching + scheduling = the Pinterest consistency dream!
Bonus tip: Batch and repurpose video content
Pinterest loves video Pins too. So if you’re creating Reels or TikToks, make them go even further.
As part of your batching, grab a few of your best performing or evergreen videos and repurpose them for Pinterest:
Remove watermarks (use tools like SnapTik and SnapInsta)
Add a Pinterest friendly title and description
Link them to relevant blog posts, products or services
Video Pins are eye-catching and stand out in the Pinterest feed, especially when they’re short, clear and helpful to your audience.
So there you go. Creating Pinterest content doesn’t have to be overwhelming. With a bit of prep and a plan you can keep showing up without constantly creating from scratch. So go on, block out a couple of hours, get your coffee (or wine, no judgement) and batch like a pro.
